Firefox Updated

I love Firefox, it’s a suburb browser. Unfortunately I’ve recently noticed a few popups sneaking through Firefoxe’s previously impenetrable security barrier. Luckily, Mozilla have just released Firefox 1.0.1 that promises to fix some of these security holes. Suck on that Internet Explorer.

Perhaps most embarrasingly, this release fixes the possibility of IDN spoofing - a security flaw, that due to its age, IE was immune from!
Looking forward to 1.1 out in the next couple of months, with the new preferences panel and many other improvements.
Also check out about:config - a great little feature for the pros allowing you to customise every knock and crany of this mavelous piece of software. My tip: set ‘advanced.always_load_images’ to ‘false’ to render images as in IE - a big improvement.

For anyone who is interested (although can’t imagine why you would be) you can checkout the Firefox 2.0 roadmap. Yawn!
