A Quick Post About Tea
January 13th, 2006 4
Ooo, I love tea me. So I thought after the stir caused by the last post I’d write about something else that’s quite close to my heart. Yesterday lunchtime I had a wonder over the local supermarket, my mission was clear: To get some new tea bags to replace the 3 year old bumper pack of 20 million we have lying around in the work kitchen. So imagine my displeasure when after 5 minuets drawing fresh water and boiling the slower-than-average kettle I came to get a Earl Grey bag for my cup only to discover i’d brought loose leaves!
It’s some indication of the lengths I’ll goto to amuse myself at work that I was this gutted about the lack of decent tea. And then to spend another 10 minuets taking a picture of the tea, uploading it, then writing about it as-well…
Anyway, in conclusion, I like tea. A lot.

I’m sorry Jon, while I accept your beliefs and love of tea I would have to say that evidence suggests that coffee is now the beverage of choice in the work place environment.
I think tea is just an easy option for you, you are blinded by your faith in it and your just scared to accept that there could be more out there. Coffee may seem a daunting experience due to all the different variations we have, but just know that all followers of coffee share the same basic love and trust in those magic beans which have evolved into the wonderful drinking pleasure it is today.
I love my coffee, and I accept that I may not know what all the coffee in the world tastes like yet, but I cant wait to find out :o)

How come you don’t have a teapot at work?

If you saw how very very much tea we drink to keep us going where I work, you’d be worried for coffee traders I’m sure. Though I’d drink the coffee if it were a decent brand. Jon, what did you do with the leaves in the end? Buy a tea pot?
