Tiscali… The Turd Still Floats
May 30th, 2007 5
Thanks to all who left a comment on my last Tiscali post, it seems that they’ve outdone themselves this time, here is a breif update:
I sent a letter to Tiscali complains department aprising them of my situation and promptly… ahem… well, soonish recived a reply informing me that this was indeed a ‘rare case’ and I could expect the TAG removed from my line soon, as the nice woman who’d written the letter had issued an internal memo.
So you can imagine my (lack of) surprise when I get a message from some woman at Tiscali saying ‘we hope your internet is now working’… no no NO NO NO!!!
So the TAG is still on my line, and to cap it all off, I’m now being chased by a dept collection agency because apparently I owe Tiscali money! Despite the fact they took the Direct Debit for a month of broadband they didn’t provide.
Anyway, I’ve written them another polite letter and OffCom are involved. My advice? If you have Tiscali, get rid (if you can) get rid now.

I know how you feel mate, I am also having connectivity issues with my ISP (VM). Phone call after call, reduced rate for 12 months, letter to the complaints department following the presciptive advice of Ofcom and my Solicitor.
However, the other night I managed to speak to someone with good cs skills and was helpful and informative, the only problem being that he had to raise the issue to the network engineers to have a look at. I have to ring back tonight with my “Ticket No.” and see how it has progressed. I dont really want to move from VM but feel like I am being pushed.
Reading the threads on the register, it gives you a good idea of how bad “Broadband Britain” really is.
I hope your problems get sorted soon buddy.

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that the saga continues… I am pretty sure now you have contacted Ofcom, things will get moving faster now.
Fingers crossed for you.

How is your problem progressing?
I have waited the 10 days in which they said they would contact me and still no joy. I have made a complaint to Ofcom and Watchdog.
I will be writing to Virgin Media to rescind the contract!!
