Four places I have lived
- Walsall

My old mate Lloydy has finally announced on his blog (so I’m finally officially allowed to write this post), what a few of us have know for ages: He’s off to work for Ning. Well done mate, you’re now part of an elite.
Amongst us so called “web designers” (yeah, I suppose i’d include myself there, although most people would just say ‘geek’), there are those that have risen above the rest. People like Jeffery Zeldman and Molly Holzschlag who now get to travel the world telling people like me about new innovations in the world of web. There are whole confences dedicated to it. It’s an exciting life in the non-stop, fun filled world of elite webbers.
Ok, you might have sensed a hint of sarcasm in that last sentence, but I’ll admit that may be a bit of the green-eyed monster speaking. After all, it’s not every day that a large company head hunts one of your friends for their new lead designer. I genuinely expect great things from you Mr. Lloyd. And a set of free tickets to at media 2007 (where, of course, you’ll be the headline guest) wouldn’t go ammis.
Good luck, God speed and all the best for this new chapter in your life. You deserve it mate.

Yes, I am a fully paid up, registered, nerd. But, I feel I have recently been remiss in my nerd duties. For example, it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything on the diary, or done any kind of design… but dare I say it, it’s time… I just need to get the bug again, the design bug. I’ve been doing some really nice stuff at work lately (even though I do say so myself) and I think it’s time I brought some of my new skills to bear on roobotom dot com.
Don’t worry Lloydy, I’ll also spend some time on the joint projects we’ve talked about….
That is all.

If you’re seriously rich you may consider buying your own island, but how about your own man-made island like these. This looks like the kind of thing you’d buy if you were stupid rich (or even stupid and rich), maybe I should put one on my Amazon wish list…

Apparently it’s that time of year again. There is a big Word Press theme competition over at Alex King dot org, and looks like they’re building quite a tasty collection of prizes, now if only they would add an iPod to the pool…

Holy-molie, Word Press 1.5 has just passed the 50,000 download Mark! Does this make it the fastest growing blog app ever? To be honest, I don’t know - nor can I be arsed to find out, but it must be giving Moveable Type a run for it’s money!

Never let it be said that I don’t give credit where credit is due. Campaign Monitor is a brilliant new bulk email service for web developers. We’ve just used it to send out a huge campaign and been very impressed with the reporting tools, price, and speed. Give them a try, you know you want to!

I love Firefox, it’s a suburb browser. Unfortunately I’ve recently noticed a few popups sneaking through Firefoxe’s previously impenetrable security barrier. Luckily, Mozilla have just released Firefox 1.0.1 that promises to fix some of these security holes. Suck on that Internet Explorer.

Try this mad puzzle game. I got to level 8 (with a little help I’ll admit), but after that it gets a little impossible. If anyone can complete it, I think you should personally certify yourself a genius.
